Celebrating the diversity people in Broxtowe

11 June, 2010

A DEDICATED group of people, who meet each month, have organised two major events for the summer. The group organises events, workshops, and school fun days, to celebrate the diversity of people who live and work in Broxtowe.

Families across Broxtowe are invited to a free family celebration, filled with activities and performances. Round Hill Primary School is holding the annual Broxtowe Community Celebration, on July 3, 11.00am-4.00pm.

Over the years, the event has attracted thousands of people to Round Hill Primary School in Foster Avenue, Beeston for an afternoon of performances from local schools and organisations.

There will be able a variety of activities to choose from. Children can enjoy activities including face painting, arts and crafts, storytelling, African drumming, mehndi (henna) and hair braiding, while adults can enjoy music performances from local people. Adults will also have the chance to taste authentic foods from around the world.

Another event will also be taking place on the same day. Youth Factor will be taking place in Beeston Square, which offers a programme of music and performances put together by youngsters.
