A Level success at Castle College
20 August, 2007
Claudia Gathercole
Castle College students have been celebrating another year of outstanding exam results. A diverse range of students made up those receiving their results, from ages 18 to 64, those working full-time and many returning to learning after years out of education.
Castle College has a campus in both Beeston and Stapleford.
Claudia Gathercole, 43, from Bramcote, and originally from Germany, achieved a grade A in French at AS Level, and went to enrol on the A2 Level course as soon as she received her results. She said: “I enjoy learning languages, and am very interested in France and the French culture. I really enjoyed the course and I had a good teacher.”
Herpreet Bains, 19, from Beeston, was both delighted and surprised with her results – she took A Levels in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry, and her grade C in Psychology means she can now progress on to her first choice of Coventry University to study Dietetics.
"Celebration"
Talking about the success of all students receiving their results, Vice Principal Sarah Dennis said: “The emphasis of today should be on the celebration of the achievements of all A Level students.
“At Castle College we have many adults who have achieved outstanding A Level results alongside traditional 18 and 19 year old students.
“We are delighted with the performance of all our students who have achieved an outstanding 6% increase in A-C grades whilst maintaining the same high overall pass rate as last year.”
