Over 1,900 competitors descended to the National Water Sports Centre to compete in two triathlon events – the majority 1,400 competitors were attending the British Triathlon National Team Relay Triathlon Championships; the others taking part in the second race of the Timex Sprint Triathlon Series (Nottingham Triathlon).
Cadets were deployed to Water Feed Stations around the course and intersections of paths and running course. With extremely hot weather over the weekend they did a much needed service for the competitors.
Race Director, Iain Hamilton said: “The cadets have given us exemplary service in the last two days; we have never had such a positive feedback from the competitors.”
Plt Off Jodi Hudson of Beeston Squadron said: “It was good that the two units can work with such cohesion, we have had a good weekend and I’m already looking at next years plans.”
