Anti-social behaviour to be tackled
13 March, 2008
The three Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRPs) in South Nottinghamshire are to receive £14,000 each per year for the next two years to help tackle anti-social behaviour in the area. The Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe CDRPs will combine their funds to put in place a Crime Analyst to study trends and patterns in crime.
Funding for a second year
The position will initially be in place for one year, although funding for a second year has already been agreed.
There are a number of CDRPs throughout the County, and their role is to bring together all agencies in the county with an interest in reducing crime and disorder.
Home Office Recommendations
The CDRPs are currently acting on Home Office recommendations to be more accountable to communities and more target-driven. The Crime Analyst role will be key to achieving these targets.
In additional to this, the CDRPs for the three South Nottinghamshire districts will be combining in the near future, and the Council funding will also help to implement these changes.
Coun Glynn Gilfoyle, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Partnerships, said: "The money that the CDRP in South Nottinghamshire are to receive shows that Nottinghamshire County Council and its partners are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour in the county".
