Arts and Crafts Fair a Success

29 April, 2008

arts-crafts-fair-success The first of four Arts and Craft Fairs in Beeston Square took place last weekend.

The fair officially opened by Deputy Mayor Cllr Sue Wildey and attracted hundreds of people of all ages into the town centre over its two-day stay.

In the main marquee the selection of jewellery, hand made cards, candles and gifts as well as garden ornaments and paintings along with the friendly stallholders and good weather gave shoppers an all-round pleasant shopping experience.

Phenomenal Success

The fair’s organiser Alan Woolley commented after the event: “I feel that it has been a phenomenal success and Broxtowe Borough Council have been extremely helpful and supportive.

“One of our stallholders summed the weekend up by saying it was the best craft fair she has ever had!”

The fair is set to return in May, July and October and is a welcome feature to the town’s events calendar.
