06 July, 2007
br /> To mark the achievement of the magnificent 7, the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe Councillor Brian Wombwell will be presented with the Park Mark award by Chief Superintendent John Busuttil on Thursday, July 26 at 1pm in the Car Park on Devonshire Ave, Beeston.
In addition to the multi storey in Beeston, which has held the award for seven years, six more car parks throughout the Borough have now received the award. The magnificent 7 are:
• Multi Storey car park, Beeston
• Foster Avenue short stay, Beeston
• Devonshire Ave, Beeston
• Cliffe Hill Avenue short and long stay, Stapleford
• Victoria Street long stay, Kimberley
• Oxford Street long stay, Eastwood
• Sun Inn long stay, Eastwood.
The Park Mark Award is a prestigious award presented by the British Parking Association and is given to car park operators who have achieved a high standard of crime prevention.
The car parks have been assessed by the police and have measures in place to deter criminal activity creating a safer environment for both the public and their vehicles.
The award ensures the parking areas are properly managed, maintained and have appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage and cleanliness.
The Council aims to continue with its current success and achieve a further 2 awards within the current financial year and has been working hard to obtain the funding required to achieve these prestigious awards.
