Beeston Business seminar
02 February, 2008
The Beeston Business Forum in conjunction with Broxtowe Council are inviting both Beeston businesses and all local stakeholders to a special event so they can do just that and help influence the future of Beeston.
Where Beeston Should be going
The event, to be held on Wednesday, February 13, at the new Pearson Centre, Nuart Road, Beeston, will use the skills of specialist facilitators to help those attending look at the history of the town, where it is today and then where it should be going in the future.
The event is funded by East Midlands Development Agency, who has provided support for a number of towns in the region to carry out such an exercise, including most recently at Hinckley in Leicestershire where over 70 people attended.
Invitation Only
The Beeston event is by invitation only, as only a maximum of 70 people can attend, and Beeston Business Forum, which is helping to co-ordinate it, is hoping for a good turnout from businesses and local groups.
Chris Timson, Chair of the Forum and who also runs Touchlight Communications based in the town centre, said: “The Beeston Business Forum has now been running for five years, quietly helping businesses to work together to improve Beeston.
”A new project for the Town"
“The event is designed to kick start a new project for the town, really shifting things up a gear, which can put businesses in the driving seat, helping to make real and tangible improvements to their town centre.
“I'm really excited about the potential improvements to Beeston that could be brought about and I’m looking forward to meeting with everyone on February 13, to work out our priorities."
