Man struck by train

A Train struck a man at the Lenton South Junction near to Beeston this morning (Wednesday).

The male was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with severe leg injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

The incident happened at 0724 and involved the 0437 Kingsbury to Lyndsey EWS freight service.

Some delays were experienced.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident, although they are not treating it as suspicious.

The are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 0800 40 50 40 of Crimsestoppers on 0800 555 111.
