Fire Safety inspectors within Nottinghamshire have just given one of this country’s major High Street chains a ‘clean bill of health’ following an extensive review of its systems.Officers from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) are working closely with managers at Boots the Chemist to help protect millions of staff and customers in stores the length and breadth of the UK.
Roll out consistent standards
The Lead Fire Authority Partnership Scheme has put Nottinghamshire at the forefront of the company’s fire safety activities, working alongside managers at Boots’ Beeston headquarters to roll out consistent standards to all of its 1,500 retail outlets nationwide.
A spokesman for the NFRS said that working practices, processes and structures are all under review, and together are aiming to raise standards, achieve greater consistency, and to keep people working in, and visiting their stores, safe.
A spokesman for Boots added that the company is wholly committed to doing all it can to improve the safety of its 60,000 staff and its millions of customers. Individual store managers are responsible for testing and maintaining their fire safety systems, working to standard protocols and procedures.
