Basketballs stolen in Bramcote

30 August, 2007

Nearly 200 basketballs have been stolen during a burglary in Bramcote.

They were stolen from an outbuilding at an address on Stanley Drive between Friday, August 24 and Sunday, August 26.

It is believed thieves also stole a wheelbarrow from the building and used it to transport the 180 basketballs.

Imported

The basketballs are all size 5 and imported from India; 80 are yellow and black Hunter brand, 50 are red and black Hunter brand and 50 are blue and yellow Winner brand.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “There is every chance that these basketballs may go on to be sold in places like market stalls or at car boot sales.

“We would warn members of the public to think twice before buying in these circumstances, as they are likely to be purchasing stolen goods.”
