14 November, 2008

bramcote-leisure-centre-aquamark Bramcote Leisure Centre has recently been awarded the Aquamark, the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Award Scheme for swimming programme quality.

According to the ASA website it is the first leisure centre in Nottinghamshire to achieve this standard.

Scheme

The scheme is designed to monitor and measure the effectiveness of swimming development and to help organisations providing swimming programmes to improve and enhance their service. It provides the community with the knowledge that the swimming provision meets the highest level of consistency and quality.

Bramcote Leisure Centre has been assessed on numerous standard criteria. The assessment process included mystery visits to the leisure centre as well as mystery telephone enquiries. The process concluded with a full day formal assessment by an appointed assessor.

Swimming Programme

The swimming programme at Bramcote Leisure Centre includes a wide range of activities such as sub aqua, ladies only sessions, triathlon, kayaking, snorkelling, family sessions and even a moonlight swim.

The learn to swim programme consists of over 80 classes providing over 1000 places for adults to babies to learn the lifelong skill of swimming from beginners to pre-club standard, lifesaving and personal survival.
