Cannabis Plants seized in Beeston

23 May, 2008

cannabis-seized-beeston-21 Nottinghamshire Police has seized cannabis plants worth more than £100,000 following the search of a house.

Officers discovered the substantial cannabis grow after executing a warrant at a house in Heard Crescent, Beeston, at around 8.30am, Friday May 23.

During the search more than 120 mature cannabis plants along with 160 smaller plants were recovered from the property.

Extensive array

Officers also recovered an extensive array of specialist growing equipment, including high-powered lamps and other drug-related paraphernalia, including scales and bags.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the property and is currently in custody.

The warrant was executed after Nottinghamshire Police received a tip off from a member of the public.

Inspector John Lees said: “This discovery shows how useful information received from the public is in fighting drugs crime. “I ask anyone who spots any suspicious people or activity, or notices an unusual smell, to call Nottinghamshire Police or Crimestoppers so we can deal with it.”
