UPDATED - Cars damaged in vandal attacks

Police have arrested two men in connection with a spate of car-related vandalism in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire.

It is understood 39 vehicles were damaged in Stapleford between 9pm on Wednesday, July 11 and the early hours of Thursday morning, July 12.

Typically the driver’s side wing mirror was smashed off in the attacks.

Vehicles parked in the area of Lawrence Street, Brookhill Street and Halls Road were affected.

Similar incidents of vandalism also occurred in Derbyshire overnight and officers believe the crimes could be linked.

The arrested men, who are aged 27, and 24, are in custody in Ripley, Derbyshire and will be interviewed by police.
