Chilwell Care Home to stay open
24 August, 2007
The Cabinet Committee has carried out the review of Council run care homes for older people in Nottinghamshire, looking at how to meet the care needs of older people in the future.
Listened
The Committee listened to the views of interested parties including councillors, older people, unions and representatives from Age Concern and will meet for the final time on Monday, September 3 at 2pm.
A report to the committee will recommend that the Council should continue to provide residential care for older people from one care home in each district, including Bramwell in Chilwell.
Recommendation
If the recommendations are accepted by the Cabinet Committee, they will go to the County Council’s Cabinet on September 19 and if approved there will be a formal three month consultation period before any decision is made.
This will run from the beginning of October to the beginning of the New Year.
A final decision will then be made at Cabinet early next year.
