Community Day for Beeston Fields

03 September, 2007

Local residents from the Beeston Fields area are being invited to attend a Community Safety day on Saturday, September 15, between 12 noon and 4pm.

The event will include advice and activities based around community safety, personal protection and protecting property and vehicles.

Some of the organisations on hand to give advice include Nottinghamshire Police, Crime Reduction Manager, Neighbourhood Watch, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, Crimestoppers, Trading Standards, Victim Support and many more.

Beat Bobby

There will also be a chance to speak to local Councillor Steve Carr or local bobby on the beat, PC Chris Copley.

For the children there will be freebies, free bicycle post coding, free refreshments and a performance of a community play by Trading Standards about cold calling and distraction burglaries.

Burglaries and car crime have increased in the Beeston Fields area recently so residents can equip themselves with suggestions and advice to help beat those burglars and crack those car thieves.

Community

The event has been organised by a partnership of community representatives and organisations and will take place at the Community Centre, Boundary Road, Beeston right in the heart of the Beeston Fields area.
