Community Day proves successful

Organisers of the Community Celebration Day Summer Extravaganza which took place at Round Hill School, Beeston has been hailed as the most successful yet.Over 1100 people attended the event, which brought together different communities in the Borough, treating visitors to music, dancing and singing from various cultures around the world, some performed by adults and some performed by children.
Thumbs Up
The event was given a resounding thumbs up from visitors. Feed back indicates that people liked the range of activities, performances and Information available.
Face Painting, Mendhi and Kwik cricket were among the top attractions as well as the food - lots of different tastes and it all went!
Kwik Cricket
The Kwik Cricket, Under 11’s Shield went to Bramcote C of E Primary School with Round Hill as the runners up. During the day 100 people young and old took part in the Kwik Cricket.
Broxtowe Community Celebration Group was formed in 2005 with the support of workers from Castle College, Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and the Primary Care Trust with the aim of organising a community celebration event bringing the different communities of Broxtowe Borough together in the summer of 2005.
