Work to renew bridge expansion joints on the A52 Brian Clough Way between Bardills Roundabout and the M1 interchange at J25, will start on Sunday, May 11, and is due to finish on Saturday, May 17. All the work will be carried out overnight, to limit delays to drivers, and will require either single lane or full carriageway closures of the eastbound and westbound carriageway between M1 Junction 25 and the Bardill's Roundabout from 8pm until 6am each night.
On Sunday, May 11, and Friday, May 16, lane one on the A52 east and westbound will be closed.
From Monday, May 12, until Thursday, May 15, there will be a full closure of the A52 east and westbound including the closure of the A52 eastbound slip road from the M1 Junction 25.
Highway Agency project sponsor, Alan Darby, said: "The work is essential to maintain and improve the safety of the bridge. The Highways Agency is committed to limiting any delays when carrying out roadworks and improvements, but we do urge drivers to allow a little extra time for their journeys."
During the full closures eastbound drivers will be diverted via the A52/M1 roundabout to B6002 Bostocks Lane South and Petersham Road, turning left on to the B6003 Derby Road and Nottingham Road, before turning left on to the B6003 Stapleford and Toton Lane before joining the A52 at the Bardill's Roundabout. The diversion route is reversed for westbound motorists.
