Fitness Instructor in Race for Life
06 April, 2008
A Fitness instructor from Beeston Rylands is to take part in this year’s Race for Life at Holme Pierrepont in July.Rachel Lockhart is training at Chilwell Olympia Leisure Centre where she works as a fitness instructor. As a keen athlete Rachel has been running since she was 12 and spent six years competing for Redhill Roadrunners in both track and field, cross country and road races.
Although it would seem she is an ideal candidate for the race she has had to overcome health problems over the last two years including recovering from a motorbike accident in 2007.
Flagship Event
The Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s flagship event that has grown to become the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event. In 2007 it brought together 665,000 women to walk, jog or run 5k to raise £40 million pounds for Cancer Research UK – the world’s leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research.
By sponsoring Rachel people can help others survive cancer. Donating through the Race for Life website is simple, fast and totally secure.
Gift Aid
It is also the most efficient way to sponsor Rachel - Cancer Research UK will receive the money faster and at least an extra 25% in tax will be added to the gift if the donator is a UK taxpayer and if they tick the Gift Aid box.
