Friends of Toton Fields Group Launches

The Friends of Toton Fields, will meet on Monday, April 28, 7:45pm at the Greenwood Centre. The aim of the group is to protect, preserve and enhance some of the semi-natural areas of land around Toton.
Designated
The group are hoping to get these areas designated as a local nature reserve, and part of the opening meeting is the unveiling of the draft management plan that Broxtowe Borough Council have commissioned from the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.
The Friends group arose from a suggestion by the Community Action Trust for Toton, which coincided with an environment management plan being created by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for Broxtowe Borough Council.
A spokeman for the group told NG9: “Some of our members have been recording the natural environment for a long time, and we have now started to publish their findings on our website Blog page.
“All residents of Toton and adjoining areas are welcome to become a member.
