Funeral of Stapleford Stalwart to take palce

Dennis Hilliard, 81, of Moorbridge Lane, died on Saturday, February 23, in the Queen’s Medical Centre.
His funeral will take place on Wednesday, March 12, at 11.30am at the Methodist Church, Eatons Road followed by a service of committal at Bramcote Crematorium.
Youth Work
Mr Hilliard devoted his life to giving youngsters sporting opportunities and had become involved in youth work in 1947 at the Stapleford Baptist Church Sunday School.
He founded the Stapleford Baptist Boys Club, which then became the Stapleford and District Boys Club in 1959 and ran until the 1970’s.
Mr Hilliard, who was a bachelor, had worked as a Probation Officer and was a long-serving member of the Stapleford Methodist Church.
