Gearing up for Community Celebration

19 June, 2008

gearing-up-community-celebration Music, dancing and singing from cultures around the world, performed by adults and children are all features of this year’s Broxtowe Community Celebration.

The free event will take place on Saturday, July 5, from 11am until 4pm and is held at Round Hill Primary School, Foster Ave, Beeston.

Bigger and Better

This years Broxtowe Community Celebration is bigger and better than previous events and new for this year is a challenging and thrilling climbing wall. For those who like to shake a tale feather a vibrant Caribbean steel band will also be performing in Beeston Square.

Other activities include face painting, arts and crafts, storytelling, drumming, a Kwik Cricket knockout tournament and much more – all this fantastic entertainment and a taste of foods from around the globe. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

There is a small committee of local people that help to organise this fantastic event every year and we are always looking for new members to join the planning group, so if you can spare a couple of hours per month to attend a meeting then please contact the Community Development section of Broxtowe Borough Council on 0115 917 3657.
