12 March, 2008

george-spencer-school-gcse The George Spencer Foundation School and Technology College in Stapleford has been praised for making outstanding improvements to the GCSE results in 2007.

Specialist schools and academies across the country have been recognised by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) and 359 of them were invited to attend a celebratory dinner in London, last month.

”Outstanding Improvements”

Commenting on the schools’ excellent achievements, Elizabeth Reid, Chief Executive of the SSAT said: “I would like to congratulate these schools for achieving outstanding improvements to their GCSE results.

“It is important that we recognise success in the education system as it is the product of hard work, good leadership and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. This is the success that enables more young people to reach their potential.

“Good schools have a story to tell and the specialist schools programme supports the identification of what works and how it can be replicated, so all schools are making improvements year after year.”
