Girl Guide receives highest accolade

Deanna Cardy, who is a member of the 2nd Beeston Guides, was presented with the Baden Powell Award – the highest Girl Guide honour - at Victory Road Church.
The 14-year-old, who attends Chilwell School, is only the second girl in the history of the 2nd Beeston Guides to achieve the accolade since it re-formed over 20 years ago.
Deanna completed ten activities from five areas: healthy lifestyles, global awareness, discovery, skills and relationships, celebrating diversity. Her final challenge was a Dracula hunt in Whitby.
