Graffiti to be kept on file

21 February, 2008

Graffiti artists in Stapleford could be made an exhibition of – but not in the way they might think!

Any new graffiti that appears in Stapleford is to be photographed and kept on file at Broxtowe Borough Council before it is cleaned off.

It is hoped that regular offenders may be identified and then be charged with multiple offences should their ‘tag’ be identified and they could be charged with the cost of cleaning up.

In the summer all of the utility boxes around the town will be repainted to remove graffiti.
