18 March, 2008
Mayor of Broxtowe, Cllr Brian Wombwell presented a cheque for £3,000 to the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. The money, from Broxtowe Borough Council’s Grant Aid, was handed over at Attenborough Nature Reserve and is a general donation towards nature conservation work.
”Delighted”
A spokesman for the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust told NG9: “We are delighted that Broxtowe Borough Council has made a £3,000 donation towards our conservation programme.
“Many of our grants are tied to specific projects and finding money to cover the general costs of our work to protect and enhance wildlife habitats can be very difficult.
“Contributions such as the money from the Borough Council are vital as they give us the flexibility to do more to protect wildlife locally by enabling us directing funds to where they are needed most.”
