Issues Tackled in Beeston
24 May, 2007
The priorities were set by the Local Area Group (LAG) of Beeston Rylands and Beeston Central wards in consultation with local residents last month. The group is made up of representatives from the police, Broxtowe Borough Council, local councillors, local businesses and members of the community, who will focus their attention on these issues over the next three months.
PC Dave Banner, who is the local neighbourhood police officer for the area, said: “I am very pleased with the response of the local community and the interest we have had in forming the Local Area Group (LAG). It’s good to see that there are people who want to improve the area in which they live.
“The membership of the LAG varies from residents, local councillors to key members of the community. The membership of the group is still being established but the aim is to make it fully representative of the community. We are keen to ensure the LAG represents all age groups and would welcome young people to help share the views of this age group, especially teenagers in the area.
"Any young people who live in the Beeston Rylands or Queen's Road area, who have an interest in the neighbourhood they live in, may want to join the LAG and have an input in how it is policed.”
