End of a Kwik Save era

13 July, 2007

THE former Kwik Save Store on Derby Road, Stapleford is up for sale.

The company, which went into administration, has instructed international property consultancy King Sturge to dispose of 196 of its’ stores throughout the country.

All stores are leasehold and range in size from 4,000 ft² to 40,000 ft².

Martin Crossley, Partner, Retail and Leisure at King Sturge, said of this appointment: “We are extremely pleased to have been appointed on such a high profile instruction and anticipate very strong interest in this wide ranging portfolio of UK stores.”

However, the news that it really is the end for the Stapleford store has been met with dismay from locals.

One Stapleford resident told NG9: “It really is an awful shame that Kwik Save has had to close.

“It now means that there is not a lot of competition or choice for those of us who either haven’t got transport, who elderly or disabled or those with young families.”
