Little Drivers support Rally

02 October, 2007

little-drivers-40 John Pearson's rally car Little Drivers enter Britain’s toughest rally to support children’s charity Tree House.

Little Drivers soft play centre at Stapleford will be supporting rally driver John Pearson on the Lombard Rally next month driving his Vauxhall Astra in what is regarded within motor-sport as Britain’s toughest rally for show-room specification cars.

All crews are in 1400cc cars or less, driving a new formula called Endurance Rallying where modifications are strictly limited.

Tree House

The Tree house Charity educates children with Autism and the money raised as a result of the Lombard Rally will go directly to a Road Safety education centre at a National teaching centre being built.

John who is a familiar face behind the counter at the soft play centre will be joined by navigator, Ian Jones.

John told NG9: “The slippery conditions make the course very hard and gruelling there is nothing else quite like the Lombard, no practice, limited servicing, and everyone else with similar power provides a very level playing field.”

Tough Miles

The event starts from Gaydon Motor Museum, near Warwick, on Thursday, November 8 and finishes at Newsport Sport Village on Sunday afternoon after 1,200 tough miles taking in famous forests, stately homes, circuits, hillclimbs, moorland and farmland driving a route similar to the Lombard RAC Rally of the 1970s.
