Chance to see M1 widening Plans

10 October, 2007

Members of the public will be able to find out more about the plans for widening the M1 between junctions 25 at Sandiacre and 28.

The scheme, which affects NG9 residents in Trowell, aims to provide congestion relief as well as benefit the region's economy.

The Highways Agency and its contractors MVM are staging a number of exhibitions where members of the project team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Risley Venue

An exhibition will be held on Thursday, October 25 at Risley Hall Hotel, Derby Road, Risley between 2pm and 8pm.

Highways Agency project manager Tony Turton said: "These exhibitions will give us the opportunity to explain the scheme in more detail, how construction is to be undertaken over the next three years and the effect it will have on road users, residents and other stakeholders.

"The exhibitions will also provide an opportunity to highlight how we will care for the environment and the safety benefits that this scheme will bring once the works are completed."
