Man remanded into custody following death of Chilwell man

Denton Levi Terry Moneypenny of Bramerton Road, Bilborough appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 and has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance in February 2008.

The 21-year-old man was arrested on Monday, November 5, on suspicion of the murder of Thomas Blackwell and charged by Nottinghamshire Police on Tuesday, November 6, with the manslaughter of Thomas Blackwell.

Mr Blackwell was assaulted during an altercation outside Deepak Store in Barn Croft in Chilwell around 11.45am on Friday 2 November 2007.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, where he later died on Friday, afternoon, November 2.

A Home Office Post Mortem was held on Friday, November 2, at Leicester Royal Infirmary and the cause of death was identified as a head injury.
