Mediators receive certificates

mediators-receive-certificates Fourteen mediators received certificates for completing a community mediation course at Broxtowe Borough Council.

The course, which takes 10 weeks to complete aims to provide the skills, required to enable the mediators to successfully manage the process of mediation.

Presentation

The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Brian Wombwell presented the certificates at the Broxtowe Borough Mediation Service’s Annual Open Meeting on January, 22.

Broxtowe Borough Council launched the Mediation Service in 1997 and a committee manages it with representatives from the private and public sectors as well as community groups and organisations.

Community Mediation

Volunteers who receive training in community mediation play a central role in supporting the service. Nottingham-based Alliance Mediation Management provided the training.

Anyone who would like to talk about Broxtowe Borough Mediation service can call in at the ‘drop-in’ surgeries at the CAB, Albion Street, Beeston on the first Friday of the month, Stapleford Care Centre, Stapleford on first Thursday of the month and the CAB in Eastwood on the last Tuesday in the month.
