Kickboxing champion Nathan Kirk is looking to secure sponsorship which will help him on his way to international competitions.Nathan, 18 from Stapleford, is a full contact kickboxer and fights in shows attracting audiences of over 800 people, all over the Midlands region.
He is currently W.K.A Pro-Am Midlands area champion and W.K.A English Lightweight champion and his achievements are even more impressive as he combines his training of five-times a week with studying the BTEC National Diploma in Sport at the Castle College.
Has to borrow equipment
Nathan currently has to borrow all of his equipment, including shin guards, feet pads, gowns, gloves and shorts and says: “I began kickboxing when a friend invited me along to have a go.
“I am currently training at Surge Johal of Gladiators Gym in Long Eaton and am now signing a B class pro contract for cage fighting, fighting my way through the ranks on an international level.
”Would mean a great deal"
“It would mean a great deal to me if I could gain some sponsorship, especially as I will be fighting at such a high level, I will need to look the part!”
Nathan’s next fight is a title defence at Derby t-5 nightclub in December.
