NG9 Teachers win awards

The finalists' skills, passion and professionalism were celebrated at 13 ceremonies in the English regions, and the regional event took place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on Thursday, July 5.
Christopher Haggett from George Spencer School, Stapleford, won the Teaching Award for Enterprise.
Richard Taylor of Foxwood School, Bramcote, won the Department for Education and Skills Award for Governor of the Year.
The winners will receive a Plato, the Teaching Awards symbol of excellence in education.
Their names will then go forward to the televised national final held in London in October.
Schools Minister Jim Knight said: “Many congratulations to all the finalists.
“I am delighted that excellence in the teaching profession continues to be celebrated through the Teaching Awards and am grateful to all those who do such a rewarding but sometimes difficult job."
