Otter Holt created at Attenborough Nature Reserve

An otter holt has been created at Attenborough Nature Reserve.

It has been created on an island close to the Nature Centre is made up of a series of carefully constructed wooden chambers.

Enhance a wide range of wildlife habitats

Site owners CEMEX have donated £10,000 to help the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Ranger Service enhance a wide range of wildlife habitats, support volunteer groups and provide assistance and information to visitors to Attenborough Nature Reserve.

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust manage both the site and the Nature Centre with support from CEMEX and Broxtowe Borough Council.

Paul Learoyd, the Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust said: "The provision of a seven-day-a-week ranger service is vital to the ongoing care and maintenance of Attenborough Nature Reserve.

"The rangers also provide a link with our volunteers and the general public and we are extremely grateful to CEMEX for their financial support."

Ian Southcott, UK community affairs manager for CEMEX, added: "We are delighted to be able to continue our support for the Wildlife Trust's fantastic work at Attenborough.

“This is such an important asset for the community and as owners of the site we work closely with the Trust to help them further develop its potential."
