Revamped Park to Offically Open
04 July, 2007
Following extensive works and detailed consultation with local schools, the newly refurbished and extended play area will be officially opened by the Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Brian Wombwell, on Tuesday, July 10, at 2pm.
The play area has always been very well used but was not big enough to cope with demand at this extremely popular and award-winning park.
The new play area, which is now twice the size of the original, contains a range of exciting and eye-catching equipment for both toddlers and children up to 14 years of age. The star attraction is a new six-metre-high space net. The play area has also been designed to allow use by children with disabilities.
Also present at the opening ceremony will be children from both Foxwood and Bramcote Park Schools who were involved with the design process.
The opening ceremony also marks the launch of the Play Strategy for Broxtowe and members of the Broxtowe Play partnership have been invited to attend and see at first hand the provision of a new play space, one of the key objectives of the strategy.
