Pregnant woman robbed in Stapleford

pregnant-woman-threatened-stapleford A man armed with a hatchet robbed a pregnant woman in her car in Stapleford.

The 39-year-old woman had stopped at Lloyds TSB bank in Derby Road at 7.15am on Friday 29 May.

She withdrew a quantity of cash before returning to her vehicle, which was parked in Warren Avenue.

As the woman was getting into her dark blue Mercedes car, she was approached by a man who demanded she get into her vehicle.

The offender was seen carrying a small hatchet in his right hand at the time.

He then demanded she hand over her bag and purse, which she gave to him before he ran off down Warren Avenue toward Frederick Road.

The woman was not injured in the incident but was shaken.

The man is described as white, about 5ft 8 or 9ins tall, of slim build with a Nottingham accent.

He was wearing a green jacket and a baseball cap and had a black scarf over the lower part of his face and was carrying a black bag.
