Rainbow 5's get makeover
12 April, 2008
Buses working the Rainbow 5 route are set to get a makeover.Although the buses are barely five years old, bosses at Trent Barton are taking the opportunity to upgrade Rainbow 5 with designer interiors, air conditioning and the latest low emission engines.
A new fleet of buses is also on the cards for Rainbow 5 route in the autumn with 26 Volvo B7RLE single deckers with Eclipse bodies by Wrightbus of Ballymena.
Full air conditioning
The interiors will pick up the theme started with the company’s X38 and black cat brands last year: full air conditioning, designer colour-coordinated interior and leather seats.
And unlike the current Wrightbus-bodied Scania buses, there will be no unpopular rear-facing seats.
Top London Designer Ray Stenning will be working his magic inside and out, and will also bring the company’s brand liveries up to date.
