Little Drivers off to a rally good start

Carlton and district Motor club members John Pearson and Calvin Houldsworth kicked off their rallying season in the BTRDA Rally First 1400 category last weekend on the North Humberside Stages rally in their Vauxhall Astra. The event started in the Yorkshire seaside town of Whitby and used the Forest's of Dalby complex.
The pair sponsored by Little Drivers Soft Play centre, Stapleford, Finished the event Fifth in their class and 76th overall from the 107 starters.
Losing brakes
Despite losing the use of their brakes on stage four Langdale stage and driving through the next stage using only the handbrake dropping two minutes to their nearest rivals.
The pairs chase car crew managed to rectify the fault at the roadside allowing the car to continue in to the the final nine mile test in Cropton Forest, back on top form and after taking the lost time back in the stage allowing them to finish 1 minute 10 seconds up on their nearest class rival in the rally first category.
The crew are now set for the next round of the championship on the Somerset stages at the end of April.
