A Fashion Show with a difference has taken place in Stapleford.Castle College students have held a fashion show with a difference –all the clothes modelled were made from recyclable materials!
Students from the Progression Pathways course organised a Fashion Show as part of the ’working together’ element of their Skills for Working Life course.
“Taking place at the College’s Arthur Mee Centre, all of the clothes modelled on the catwalk were created from recycled materials, including old garments, newspapers and Asda carrier bags! The students also raised funds which will go towards their end of year prom.
”Very Topical”
Talking about the event Progression Pathways Co–ordinator Caron Muldoon said: ’We thought that we should use recycled materials because this is an issue we have been working on throughout the course, and it is very topical at the moment.
“By recycling materials we already have, we kept the costs down and made use of items which would have otherwise been thrown away.
“We are sending pictures of the knitted carrier bags to ASDA in the hope that they may donate some money to our cause, as I know they are very keen on recycling and reusing carrier bags.”
