Sponsored Cycle Ride by pupils
02 April, 2008
A sponsored cycle ride will take place to help raise funds for a gruelling event in May. Pupils at Round Hill School in Beeston will take part in a cycle ride at the school and between them ride the distance to Paris on Saturday, April 12 between 12 noon and 5pm.
Proceeds from the event will help towards a gruelling challenge which a team of parents, friends and teachers are to undertake to raise vital funds towards a new school minibus.
May half term
The event is being organised by The Round Hill Parent Teacher Association of Round Hill Primary School, Beeston and the challenge, which will take place during the May half term week, is to cycle from Beeston to Paris – a total of 355 miles.
It is hoped to raise £15,000 towards:
• a school minibus, enabling the school to develop new learning opportunities and expand the range of extra-curricular activities.
• cycle training for the pupils, to help them keep safe on the roads.
• cycle storage for the pupils’ bikes.
