Stapleford Friends team up for Sport Relief

10 March, 2008

sport-relief-stapleford Four Stapleford friends have teamed up to take part in this year’s Sport Relief.

Paula Gibson, Ann Foster, Amy Foster and Margaret Williamson will be taking part in the Sport Relief Mile this coming Sunday, March 16, at the Victoria Embankment in Nottingham.

However, as Paula and Ann are disabled, will complete their mile in their wheelchairs, being assisted by Amy and Margaret.

They, along with thousands of people, will enjoy the experience of the event as well as raise much-needed funds for Spot Relief through sponsorship.

”Having a disability doesn’t preclude you from taking part”

Amy Foster, who owns Paws and Claws Pet Grooming in Stapleford told NG9: “Paula and Ann are proof that having a disability doesn’t preclude you from taking part in great events such as Sport Relief.

“We are all really going to enjoy the experience, and would like to raise as much money as possible.

“I am sure we will have such a laugh along the way, as well.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor the group can make a donation at Paws and Claws, 219 – 221, Derby Road, Stapleford or ring Amy on 0115 939 7102.
