Spring Garden Competition

06 March, 2008

stapleford-spring-garden-competition Entries are invited from Stapleford residents who would like to show off their gardens.

Following on from the success of their Summer Garden competition Stapleford Town Council has decided to hold a similar event this Spring.

Gardens can be entered in three categories small, medium and large and the judging will be carried out by the Town Mayor Cllr Brian Wombwell.

The closing date for entries is March, 18 and any resident in the Stapleford area is eligible to enter. Entry forms are available from the Stapleford Town Clerk, between 11am and 1pm, weekdays.

”Enjoy their gardening”

David Grindell, who is organising the event, told NG9: “The people of Stapleford enjoy their gardening and the town has five Allotments and a Summer Flower Competition.

“When the last year Summer prizes were given out the Town Mayor and myself asked the residents of Stapleford if they would like to enter a Spring flower Competition, and they stated that they like to see this spring into action.

“All the things that Stapleford Town Council do is to help the Community, so gardening is one part of helping the Residents in the Community to get together.”
