Grants for 'Sunken Church'
21 October, 2007
The money has been given towards restoration work at the 13th Century tower of Bramcote’s 'sunken church'.
The tower is all that remains of the church after it was moved stone by stone, from Town Street to Church Street in 1868.
Expansion of Plans
The money will mean an expansion of original plans to restore the tower and create a community space for all to enjoy and include a sensory garden with seating and information panels.
Nottinghamshire County Council has also awarded match funding of a further £10,000; and Beeston-born Paul Smith, the internationally-renowned designer, has pledged his support for the project.
