Youth Cafe set to Open

02 November, 2007

A youth café is set to open in Stapleford.

The Stapleford Branch of the Salvation Army has submitted plans to Broxtowe Borough Council to turn part of the former Rowe’s Bakery into a youth café.

The café, which will be known as Link, will be situated at the rear of 68 Derby Road and aimed at youngsters in the 11 to 16 age category.

Financed

The venture will be financed by the Salvation Army’s ‘Nicely Saved’ shop around the corner on Derby Road.

All employees will be fully trained to work with youngsters and follow the Salvation Army guidelines.

Commanding Officer for the Salvation Army, Major Richard Crowe said: “We have also brought in other churches in Stapleford to get behind the project.

“It is just the place for the young people to get them off the street and provide them with a safe environment.”
