09 August, 2007
British Transport Police is appealing for any information regarding the identity of a male caught on CCTV on a London St Pancras to Nottingham service on Thursday June 28 2007. The male is believed to have been responsible for the theft of a suitcase from the train.
The victim, a young woman, boarded the 19.30hrs Midland Mainline service to Nottingham at London St Pancras. She placed her large blue and red suitcase behind the end seat in Coach A of the train service. The victim then made her way towards the rear of the train as she had a first class ticket.
Stolen
On arrival at Beeston, the victim made her way to coach A in order to retrieve her case, and found that it had gone. It is assumed that the suitcase was stolen somewhere between Luton and Loughborough.
British Transport Police examined CCTV footage taken on the train and believe the male pictured may be able to assist them with their enquiries. The male is believed to have departed the train at Loughborough.
The male has been described as white, approximately 5ft 9” tall, short blond hair and of medium build. He is of clean shaven appearance, wearing blue jeans and a brown tracksuit top with vertical white stripes along the arms.
