Underage drinking targeted in Stapleford

27 March, 2008

Underage drinking and anti-social behaviour is to be tackled in Stapleford.

Nottinghamshire Police will introduce alcohol testing kits following complaints of youths and teenagers drinking in the town and ‘hanging around’ on street corners.

Funded

The initiative has been funded by the Crime and Disorder Partnership.

Paul Horton the Licensing Officer for Nottinghamshire Police said: "The strips work by testing youngsters' drinks when they are trying to pass it off as non-alcoholic.

“If the solution contains alcohol, the litmus strips change colour making it easily detectable.”
