Open Day at Nottingham University
11 September, 2007
Around 13,000 potential undergraduates and their families will be welcomed to the university — up more than 20 per cent on last year's visitor numbers.
They will be able to get a taste of life as a student at Nottingham, find out about the hundreds of courses on offer and why it is such a great place to live and study.
Dozens of Events
The University is running dozens of events, talks, tours, demonstrations and special events to cover every aspect of undergraduate life at the Times Higher's ‘University of the Year'.
Thousands of copies of a new booklet, 'Your Nottingham — A Students' Guide to the City', will also be handed out free to visitors. The guide emphasises what Nottingham has to offer students as a modern cosmopolitan city, in terms of vibrant nightlife, culture, leisure, shopping, sport and career prospects for graduates.
Success
The guide, produced in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University, was such a success at the Summer Open Days earlier this year that another 20,000 have been printed to meet demand.
The Autumn Open Day is aimed at potential undergraduates looking to embark on a university course in September 2008 and runs from 10am to 4pm.
The event follows the successful Summer Open Days in June which attracted more than 20,000 visitors over two days.
