Could this be the new Wilko?

High Street Retailer Wilkinson is to open a store in Stapleford, but has not yet revealed the location of the new site. Last week the company told NG9 that they would welcome an opportunity to open a store in Stapleford as part of their expansion programme.
Mayor of Broxtowe and Town, Borough and County Councillor Brian Wombwell confirmed that the company were looking at a shop in Stapleford but declined to give any further information, except to say, it was not the former Kwik Save shop on Derby Road.
Jobs Advertised
The company has also been advertising a range of job opportunities at the new store, which it states, is due to be open by October.
However, a Stapleford resident has contacted NG9 to say that speculation as to the location of the new store is growing, but the favoured site is rumoured to be next to the new Sainsbury’s on Derby Road.
Currently the family-owned home and garden chain has 280 stores in towns and cities around England and Wales and is on target to have 370 by 2010.
As one of the UK’s fastest-growing high street retailers, Wilkinson opens around 20 new stores a year in England and Wales.
