Youth Factor Day

The event aims to promote a positive image for young people to the community and to demonstrate their talents and achievements.
The event will be opened by the Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Brian Wombwell and the Youth Member of Parliament for Broxtowe Borough, Iram Mumtaz will be presenting Youth Activity Awards to 18 young people.
The accredited awards are for 30 hours of involvement in a specialist project and will be on this occasion given for music achievement, sports development, dance amongst others.
Entertainment
The lively afternoon’s event will also include workshops on circus skills, African drumming, graffiti boards, tee shirt printing as well as stalls with crime prevention information from the police as well as a drug and alcohol awareness display.
All those taking part are between the ages of 13 – 25 years and come from the Broxtowe Borough area.
This year there will be over 150 young people taking part. All the young people involved have worked hard to create a fantastic day which will help promote a better image for young people and show the residents of Broxtowe Borough the good things that the majority of young people are involved in.
Youth Council
Broxtowe Youth Council was the first of its kind to be established in the East Midlands and its 40 plus members are drawn from young people throughout the Borough. Broxtowe Borough Council acting in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council’s Youth Service established the first Youth Council in 1999. The Youth Council meets regularly to discuss issues of importance to them.
