Youth Theatre Group at Bramcote

19 January, 2008

Interested in Drama? Want to learn new performance skills, meet new friends and even have the chance to be selected to be part of Nottingham Playhouse’s main stage production in April?

Broxtowe Borough Council is linking with the Nottingham Playhouse to find young people from the Borough to join the youth theatre groups project based at Bramcote Park Business and Enterprise Centre in the half term holiday.

The Playhouse runs four satellite youth theatre groups across Nottingham for young people aged from 14 to 18 years of age and the next will be taking place between February 11 and 15. Participants will attend from Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm each day.

Easter Youth Theatre

Selected students, representing all four groups, will then be invited to take part in the Easter Youth Theatre which will lead to a production of ‘Find Me’ by Olwyn Wymark, on the Playhouse main stage week commencing March 31.

The February Youth Theatre aims to develop a variety of theatre skills. Students will work towards a short performance at the end of the week by all the students on Friday, February 15, in each of the venues. Later the same afternoon, the young people will go to the Playhouse to perform their pieces to the other three groups.

The booking fee will include a ticket to see ‘Angel House’ by Roy Williams at the Playhouse on February 26.

Places cost just £10.00 for the week. Please call Sarah Stephenson at Nottingham Playhouse for an application letter on 0115 8736231. Places must be booked by February 1.
